Question: Is there a lemon law in the states for vehicles?

When you say states I'm assuming you mean the US? Yes, there are lemon laws. However, they only apply to new vehicles. Used vehicles that have a warranty, and are not marked As Is, also have some leagal baring, but it is a lot harder to deal with, and more costly.

There is a country wide "lemon Law " for new vehicles sold in the U.S. Although there are variables each state does have it's own law. I did not say it was a federal mandate.

Most states have some kind of lemon law for NEW cars. Almost none have them for used cars. 99.999% of people who ask about lemon laws do not have a lemon and are not even close to having a lemon.
