If you are in a lemon law for a car do you have to pay for the car? during the two year period? OH come on now? I think we should have let them go under.. they have done nothing to help the people that have been supporting them in their sales ( me ) . |

"Two year period "-- where did that come from? "I think we should have let them go under... " -- then you'd REALLY be screwed, as you'd have nothing to sue and no support except from the government (who's broke as well). To answer your main question, yes, you have to keep paying on your car note during Lemon Law proceedings. |

If you file a claim under the lemon law you must continue to pay payments until the process is complete. If a lawyer takes your case you are guaranteed to win. Lawyers will be paid by GM. Once complete you will get every dime back. When I did mine against GM I used 1-800-lemonlaw. They have never lost a case. It took about 6 months to complete. I had receipts for 5 service attempts to fix. The minimum is 3 but with 5 it's a no brainer. |

Sorry bud, but that's why you read consumer reports and talk to people , there's a reason why people don't switch to american cars after having a japanese car. ps i WANTED to own a corvette one day, but now will NEVER by a gm product , ford- some , GM NEVER. |

What made you think the Lemon law is put in place to make consumer's lives easier? If it was, the process would be as easy as pushing your lemon up to the dealership driveway, finding your new car, and driving off happily ever after. In most states, you pay for the time you've had the car.... |

Your rights under lemon laws (if any) have nothing whatsoever to do with making payments to the lender. The lender & the manufacturer are 2 different parties. You are responsible for paying the lender despite any issues you may think you have with the manufacturer. Most people that THINK they are protected by the lemon law are not. They just dont read or comprehend well and thats not the manufacturers fault either. |
