Does Missouri have a lemon law when buying a car from a private owner?
I recently purchased a 97 chevy lumina from a private owner.. I found it on craigslist and called the number and talked to the guy.I asked him if the car was in decent shape body wise and he said it was a lil rough but not bad..that was ok I said..my main concern was if the motor and transmission were in good shape no knocks or slippage he assured me the car was in excellent shape as far as that was concerned..so we agreed that I would come look at it..he also told me that his mother had driven the car but was I'll and couldn't drive it any more..we met and I drove the car around the block and it seemed fine..I looked at the gas gauge and it said full..so when I got back from the test drive I asked if he had filled it up for me and he said yes..so I thinked him and proceeded to look under the hood..I noticed on the windshield their was a cover at the top and asked what was that..he told me it was to block out the sun for his mom cause her eyes were bad..so ok, I trusted him..NEVER should have trusted him..he got his money and signed it over to me and left..as he left I pulled the stuff he had covering the window and noticed the window had a crack in it..he's gone by now..so ok..I got in the car and headed home which is an hour or so away..as I was driving I got about 40 miles down the road and the car just dies..come to find out it was out of gas..when I finally got it home and filled the tank up I noticed a strong smell of gas..them as I turned the wheel hard to the left their was a popping noise..it was cool that morning so I didn't try the air which he said worked great it didn't work..after I had the car checked out by a mechanic..there was so many things wrong with the car..I tried to call him and he wouldn't answer my call..I tried to text, and the same, no answer..I couldn't get it inspected because of the windshield..I paid him 1,500 for the car I wanted something safe for my kids is what I told him.he assured me it was very safe..it's not even close.
Oregon lemon laws for used cars?
3 weeks ago i purchased a vehicle from a dealer. after having the vehicle 2 weeks I had to come back in to resign the contract. during this time the check engine light came on. I asked them to check and tell me what the issue was before i would sign the contract. they checked and told me the code undetermined. Before i went in to sign the contract the represenitive who sold me the vehicle told me to bring it in if it happened again. one week later it happened again. I took it to a autozone and had them run the code it came back as a faulty catallic converter. I took the vehicle back in and the dealer ship is refusing to make the repairs there has also been a problem with the engine oil low light coming on even though the oil level is fine. one of the windows no longer works either. The way i understand the used car sales laws a dealership must disclose ALL known defects prior to a sale is this true and anyone with legal expierence or expierence with an issue similar
Does the sc lemon law apply to me?
Ok so i traded this guy my wrecked 90 mazda miata with 250k miles on the odometer, although we did it as I bought his truck for 800 and he bought my car for 800. Anyways the truck is 100 % better than the car, iv just had some bad crap go on in my life and he let his emotions get into it and went with the deal. The car ran great. But two weeks later when everything is suddenly wrong with the car and none of the extra stuff I told him he would get is what I said which is bs so he's throwing attorneys and the lemon law everywhere.....I'm in no need to worry right? because private sales are as is, he didn't even test drive the car before we traded nor had a qualified mechanic inspect it
How can i push the lemon law on a truck I know will break down again?
I own a 2011 Ford F150, bought it in August, It has already been in the Transmission shop twice and it has less than 5,000 miles on it. I know about vehicles and a pretty good mind as to what to expect. How can i push the issue of getting rid of this heap?
Is he covered by lemon law?
I live in MA and sold my car a couple days ago. It was a 2002 pontiac grand prix, 86k, booked for 5300 sold for 4300. Anyway, i got a call today saying it failed inspection with 1300 bucks of work needed. I had the car inspected 5 months ago and take meticulous care of it, there's nothing broken... Regardless he stated Rack and pinion gone Tranny Line leaking Tie rod out ends Control ArmIf you get an inspection in MA the only parts of those that apply to safety inspection are the tierod ends $40 and control arm $100 , correct? pretty sure the steering check is only wheel and steering box The Massachusetts Lemon Aid Law allows you to void or cancel a motor vehicle contract or sale if your vehicle fails to pass inspection within seven days from the date of sale AND if the estimated costs of repairs of emissions or safety related defects exceed 10 % of the purchase price. M.G.L. c. 90 7N I suspect he is just trying to get an overhaul on a used car which doesn't need any repair for a long time as the car rides perfect and theres no sign of any issues. Anyways, even if he is telling the truth would he have grounds to return the car. He could have had it inspected before the exchange and i had zero knowledge of this and still don't buy it.Mass sucks period. The law i cited is word for word so apparently it's real. I feel the same way the car is 10 years old, 86k, he should be happy if his only issue is something minorOh and when i called him out on it he stated that the car would be returned in the next few days. anyone know if he has any chance?
Is there any lemon laws in Idaho that pertain to used cars?
I bought a used car less than 1 month ago and I'm having very minor transmission problems. I'm afraid it will turn into something worse or just be expensive right now. Anyways, I declined the warranty offered regretfully . I dug through Idaho laws and even checked the BBB and couldn't find any lemon laws that pertained to used cars, only new. Im starting to think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay for this potential problem myself. For ther record, I bought this from a dealer. If you have any information, it would be greatly appreciated.
I bought a car two weeks ago and the frame broke in half, is there any lemon laws?

Whats the lemon law actually include? and can it help me?
alright, so i got my car in september of 2011 so i have had it for less than a year and the o2 censors are out and now the transmission is going out. i'm making $350 a month payments on this car a month and its dying. the issues with it arent things i've done to it the car is just simply breaking down. so i need to know what i can do im mildly limited on funds so im hoping this lemon law can help me in some way. can anyone help im at the end of my rope with this car i can barely even get back and forth to work
Does my car that i just bought fall under the lemon law?
I just bought a 08 BMW 535xi 2 days ago. i test drove it and everything was fine but when i left the lot with it it didnt give me any problems and about a half hour in, the car starts having engine problems engine heat extreme, car shakes violently like a cylinder is not working properly? . this only happens when im giving it gas and only after about 10 min of driving it starts.so would it be considered a " lemon" since the dealer didnt notify me of the problem and an engine problem like that could be considered huge. am i right?well i bought my car with a 30 day warranty from " prestige auto group" in avenel nj. and on top of that i bought it with an optional extended warranty for 3 years or 45,000 miles. now i understand that all engine problems are covered by the warranty but if i am bringing my car to the dealer under warranty for the next 3 years then what happens after that? i rather return the car if they sold me a car that could be considered a lemon. I dont want to take any chances considering i almost spent 30,000 on a car to find out it has problems the next day
Does the lemon law apply to used cars in the state of Louisiana?
I bout a used car from a dealership about 2 weeks ago. I haven't even made the first payment and stuff keeps going wrong and needing to be fixed. I'm very unhappy with my service and want my money back so I can get something reliable.
What exactly does lemon law mean when buying a car?
I'm in the market to buy a used car and recently found a 1998 jeep wrangler with 77kilometers. The asking price is $7,800 but the add says " this vehicle has lemon law" . What exactly does this mean? Does it mean the car isn't mechanically in good shape or it might have serious problems in the future?

Lemon law-Jeep -NEW YORK?
o after almost a year of owing my new 2011 PAID FOR Wrangler, with only 9600 miles, FIVE times at the dealer to fix one of the dreaded leaks, I'm DONE. Mine had been leaking since about 4500 miles on the hinge side of the doors 2 door They had it over 2 weeks last time and brought in THE SPECIALIST to fix the problem on mine and at least 4 others with leaks.Brought it home and still flooding the floor boards. I called Jeep to begin the proceeding for lemon law. Has anyone had any experience with this in NY? And better if you dealt with Jeep Chrysler? Thanks so much for reading. Thanks Noel, the 1st guy to answer FOR NOTHING. Anyone else have a better idea? I like to think if it went before a judge the 'it's a Chrysler product" has no meaning. For record. This is my 2nd Wrangler. Last was a 1998, 150 thousand miles, only normal maintenance needed. In the end, with driving in and out of NYC there was next to no dents in it thanks to sidesteps, rubber fender flairs and steel bumpers. Paint was starting to fade and there was just a little rust starting on the front fenders. My Car before that, A 89 HONDA CIVIC over 120 thousand miles Motor still worked great. BODY DESTROYED Rusted out fenders, floors, SMASHED, dented on EVERY SIDE from parking in NY. I bought a wrangler for a reason, it's a tank.
